Angel
A slight grin played on Angel's lips unwillingly as Paradee bobbed his head and nickered. Moon snorted grumpily as she was lead outside. Angel clipped the leadrope that she had brought along to the adapter on the bottom of Moon's bit, changing her bridle to a halter in one step. She tied her on the closest T-Post with a fishing knot and waited for Gerard to finish up with Parade.
Gerard had been right. Angel really had never ridden a draft. With the exception of Moon's sire, whom was an Irish Draught, but it had only been for a few minutes. [/center]

Gerard's actions were much the same as Angel's as he tied Parade to a T-post. The stallion snorted softly, then lowered his head to nibble on some grass. Gerard caught up the the waiting Angel, excitement making him glow and radiating out of every inch of his skin. His excitement was so intense, one might of thought he was a small child getting excited about an upcoming carnival.
I think the weather's supposed to be okay, he began as they headed towards the house. At least from what I saw on the news last night. BUt you know those weathermen. They can't be trusted.

Angel
Miss Moody Moon as Angel affectionately called her mare had gotten over her grumpy spell and stretched against the nylon lead rope to nip at Parade's mane playfully, like a small filly. She whickered deep in her silvery throat and pawed at the ground, wanting Angel to untie her.
Angel glanced at Gerard as he spoke, she bit her lip in a vain attempt to hold back a smile as he nearly bounced with excitement. She nodded solemnly as he dissed the weathermen. "True. But it doesn't smell like rain. Even if it did, the horses would be okay. Its not like they havent been out in the rain before. And as long as we have a tent, we'll be okay too." She said quietly, not her usual happy-Angel snips. Angel noticed that Gerard's excitment hadn't ebbed at all since she first announced that she'd like to spend the night in the meadow. This, too, made her suspicious. Well, was it well-put suspicion or was she making a big deal out of him wanting to spend time with her? Shouldn't she have been more excited about getting alone time with Gerard? Surely there relasionship hadn't changed that much......had it? As they reached the door, Angel made her way up to her bedroom. She grabbed a small duffle bag and threw a change of clothes in it. She grabbed her pair of plaid Converse from the doorway and shoved them in too. She then walked back downstairs and waited in the kitchen for Gerard.

Parade lowered his head to the mare's flank and gave her a shove similar to the one he'd given Gerard. He and Moon were about the same age, though Parade generally tended to act older.
Well, sure we'll be okay. Doesn't mean I'm keen on camping in the rain. Gerard noticed the change in her tone and decided to put a lid on his excitement. His smile remained, but he forced the bounce otu of his step and attempted to pear a bit less energetic. After all, he didn't want her to think this was more than it was.
Gerard followed her upstairs and went down the opposite hallway to his master bedroom. The red of his walls somehow seemed brighter, his paintings more vibrant. He quickly grabbed a backpack and tossed in a tee, sweatshirt, pair of jeans and boxers, and a pair of black Vans. Gerard zipped the bag and jogged downstairs to wait for Angel.

Angel
Truthfully, Angel's mood didn't last long. Once she noticed Gerard coming back downstairs, a grin spread across her lips. " 's not so bad, camping in the rain. Unless you happen to camp by a creek. Not a fun experiance." She said, her voice still quieter than normal, but, she was back to her usual self. "Wadda you want to grab, food-wise?" She asked, looking up at him. People marching to the drums, Everybody's having fun, To the sound of love, Ugly is the world we're all in, If I'm right then prove me wrong, I'm stunned-to find a place to belong Whooo-- "What the h--?" Angel mumbled and pulled her cell phone from her pocket and groaned audibly. She flipped it open and snapped it back shut. "I really don't want to talk to you, Danny." She muttered to herself, well, her phone really, well, not even her phone, the guy that she was trying to call her, yes, that was it.
Moon was far from acting her age, or elder. She enjoyed being a spirited little mare and used it to her full advantage. She whickered and returned Parade's nudge, a rumble in her throat. [/blockquote]

Well, unless a creek magically appeared since our last stay, I think we'll be okay. Gerard follwed her into the kitchen and grabbed a few bottles of water from the fridge. Ummm, I dunno. What do you want? He was on his way to the pantry when Angel's phone rang. He was slightly puzzled when she hung up on whoever was calling. Gerard was just barely able to decipher her muttering.
Who's Danny?
Parade snorted and nipped at her flank lightly, his teeth barely brushing her pelt.

Angel .x.
Angel's green eyes followed Gerard to the pantry and looked down as he turned around and asked her about Danny. "He's a friend from the UK. Before I moved over here, to the U.S., I lived in Bolton, we were next-door neighbors. He calls me a lot when he's bored." Angel clarified, and followed Gerard to where he was standing. "Peanut butter and jelly and I'm good for a week." Angel said, grinning slightly, trying to lighten the dampened mood. She shouldn't have surpressed Gerard's sheer glee about them going to their meadow. Because all she wanted to do was make him happy. She had sworn to herself that she would never, ever hurt him again, she had already hurt him exponentially and never wanted to do it again.

Ah. Gerard was relieved to know that it wasn't an ex-boyfriend or anything like that. In fact, he wasn't even sure if she had any exes. He shook himself mentally and refocused on the conversation. PB & J it is.
The thought about exes had reminded him of his last girlfriend. He repressed a shudder. It had been great at first, but then she'd become a monster. The whole thing had ended messily, with much yelling and tears. Gerard still found it odd that she seemed to think that they were still going out after he broke up with her. He'd had to break up with her a few times, each time getting more and more angry, until she finally got it. Hopefully, he'd never have to face that with Angel.

Angel .x. Angel looked down and then back up at Gerard. Did he think that she had been in contact with an ex-boyfriend? Hah, yeah right. All of her exes had been control-freaks once she dumped them. One moved to a different school he had been so mad, one tried to kill her, saying that if he couldn't have her, no one could. Luckily Danny saved her butt then. And she got out of it, saying taht her step-father needed help caring for her elderly grandmother. That wasn't the truth. Angel had hated her family. All except her great-grandmother, Grannie Julia. Grannie Julia had been a mother figure for Angel when her mother had died when she was thirteen. Not her aunt, not her mother's best friend, Lucille, not her grandmother, but her great grandmother. Grannie Julia understood what Angel was going through and tried to help her through it. Finally, Angel came out of the dark.
Angel wrapped her arms around Gerard's waist. "Are you going to be grumpy the rest of the day?? Because I was trying to make you happy and you're not helping at all." Angel teased softly. She looked up at him. "C'mon, you know that I'm as moody as Moon." Angel insisted and kissed up his jaw and to his cheek. "I do love you, no matter how I act, Gerard." She murmured, her eyes filled with sincerity.

Gerard was somewhat surprised by her sudden affection to him, but didn't protest. He could see the sincerity in her bright eyes and couldn't help but grin. Here she was, trying to please him, and he was being a grumpy bunny. He sighed contently and kissed her forehead softly.
Well, if you keep this up, it would be impossible for me to be grumpy. He told her with a smile.

Angel .x. Angel grinned at the surprise that crossed Gerard's face. She hugged him and kissed his cheek again. "See? You don't have to be grumpy all the time." She teased, her eyes bright with pure happiness. Happy that Gerard's mood had lifted, she shook her head at his comment. "Keep what up?" Angel asked innocently and kissed his lips breifly. "C'mon, let's go!" She said with just a hint of enthusiasm.

Yeah, yeah. He grinned. Sure, pull the innocent act. Gerard relished the feel of her lips against his briefly. Alright, hold on. He tossed the peanut butter, jelly, and bread into a plastic bag before leading the way out of the house and back down to the horses. Parade snorted and shot Gerard a dirty look, as if to ask him what had taken him so long while he was tied to a post with the immature Moon.
Chill, Parade. You might as well get used to her, seeing as you'll be spending the night with her. Gerard had been loading up his saddle bags while he spoke, and stopped when he realized the implications of his statement. Then he remembered the one night that he and Angel had spent together, on a camping trip similar to this. What if she thought that was all he was trying to do? He quickly corrected his fault.
You know, in a regular way. You aren't getting any, man. He told the stallion, fastening the saddle bag.

)(Angel)( Angel smirked over her shoulder at Gerard. "Me? Innocent? Since when?" She asked coyly and walked briskly out the front door of the stable's house. Moon whickered as she opened the door and shot her a look as if to impy Now, Angel, you know I hate this stallion. Angel chuckled to herself. She shook her head at Gerard's quick correction to his teasing of his horse. "Is that all you have on your mind, she teased. "Gerard, I love you, but you think I'm going to react to every little thing. I promise, I might have a temper, but I don't bite... Unless you want me to. Angel pushed that thought aside and was about to tack her mare up when a fellow worker had jogged up to Angel's side and began to speak frantically. "I've gotta go now Angel. My grandmum was hospitalized an hour ago and I've got a three hour drive. Can you take Effy for me?" Angel nodded and took the Cob's reins. "Only if you'll take Moon back to her stall." The coworker jogged Moon back to her stall. "Well, change of plans apparently. Now, Butterfly, you had better get along with Parade or we're going to have some serious issues." She said and stroked the mare's cheek. Butterfly Effect rubbed her head against Angel's hand. Angel put her left foot into the stirrup iron and swung herself into the Cob's saddle with ease. Butterfly shook her head, her long mane flying everywhere. "Are you guys ready?" She asked softly.

.x.I'm sorry it took me so long to reply, I've been having family problems.x.
but I don't bite... Gerard tried desperately not to think about sex, and failed miserably. He was a guy, after all. He quickly pushed the memories of their last camping trip to the back of his mind and focused on putting things into his saddle bags. Okay, I'll try not to assume you're going to overreact so much.
He looked up as a fellow worker approached them with Butterfly Effect, then proceeded to exchange horses with Angel. Ummm...okay? Gerard said, somewhat confused, after Angel announced the change of plans. Parade nudged Effy's side lightly and whickered softly once Angel had mounted. Gerard quickly swung up into the saddle and checked the saddle bags to make sure they were secure. Ready.
