Kasi walked into the crowded club, searching for her friends. The lights made it difficult to see but she found the bar and sat down. She had a clear view of the door to watch for her friend. She spotted the familiar face of Riley and waved him over.

Riley spotted Kasi from across the club, and began to weave his way in and out of sweating, gyrating bodies. He stumbled at the last group, barely catching himself on the bar. Riley straightened himself up, and grinned. Hey Kasi, what's up?

She laughed at him and said Nothing. Is anyone else coming? She paused and took out her ID showed it to the barman and asked for a Long Island Iced Tea. Do you want anything hun? Kasi asked smiling coyly.

Since when am I your hun? he elbowed her gently. He, too, flashed his ID to the bartender and ordered a Guiness. I don't know about anybody else. Who did you text? I didn't text anyone... Riley grinned sheepishly, then looked down in a seemingly guilty manner. The bartender brought up their drinks, and Riley took a gulp of his Guiness.

Kasi glared playfully at him and tugged down her shirt so it covered her midriff, she was suddenly self-conscious. She sipped her Tea and said No one...and I never said you were MY hun, just in general. I guess we're on our own. Kasi looked down at her dark wash skinny jeans and low cut shirt and wondered what Riley thought of her.

Riley glimpsed her midriff briefly, but then met Kasi's eyes again. Well that was intelligent. He stuck his tongue out and rumpled her hair. He didn't know exactly what to think of Kasi yet, he hadn't really known her all that long. It had only been a month or so ago that he had moved into town, and she'd been the first one to come up and introduce herself. But he knew that he didn't want to take things too fast. He couldn't afford to lose the only friend he had in Paradise City.

Kasi mumbled something unintelligible and hid her now-flushed face with her dark tresses. She ordered a Coke, even though she had yet to finish her Tea. She sipped her Tea again and asked Riley what had been going on.

Not much, I guess. I've been living out of the hotel, trying to find a place to stay that I can actually afford. And a job. I'm definitely getting to the point where I absolutely need one. I'm running out of money fast. Pretty soon I'll have to start selling off my organs. He joked, the lights flashing in his ice blue eyes. What about you? We haven't seen each other in a couple weeks.

Kasi laughed meeting Riley's blue eyes with her hazel ones. I suppose the same thing's happening with me. I mean I need a job, I can ask around and maybe we can work together. she said looking at the dancers as if they held the answers. Maybe Sasha has some work... Kasi sighed and finished her Tea. Drink up! she told Riley smiling.

Riley laughed and took a long swig of his Guiness. Yeah, I heard she's got like the biggest stable in Paradise City? Like a hundred horses or something? And doesn't she always get those horses that nobody else will take and turn them into awesome horses? He spoke in a slightly awed tone, and took another gulp. I'd think someone with that many horses would definitely have some work to do.

Kasi smiled at his tone and replied Hopefully. She stopped for a moment and looked at Riley and exclaimed I never got a hug! and laughed. She waved the bartender over and leaned over the bar, making her shirt ride up. She whispered something in his ear and laughed quietly. He laughed too and said Sure. Kasi sat back down and glanced at Riley like nothing happened.

The bartender disappeared through a door behind the bar.

Kasi checked her phone for the time and glanced around. The bartender arrived on their side of the bar and picked her up into a bear hug and kissed her on the cheek.

Riley had been distracted briefly by a phone call from his always worrying mother. When he finally looked back up, he saw the bartender pick Kasi up, and shifted his weight back and forth. Kasi? he tapped her on the shoulder lightly, not exactly wanting to intrude in her personal space. Do you know this guy?

Of course. This is my brother, Kendall. Kasi said laughing. Put me down! Kendall this is Riley. He's new in town. she said pointing from Kendall to Riley. Kendall's why I moved out here in the first place. Who called you? Kasi said touching her older brothers arm.

Riley breathed a sigh of relief. Having some random guy picking up and kissing his friend would definitely now have been good. I see. It was just my mom, checking in. She's kinda crazy like that. He shook his head, a slight grin playing on his lips. So, Kendall. Nice to meet you. Riley offered his hand to the bartender.

Kendall turned to Riley and locked eyes with him. Riley seemed nice enough so he shook hands. Nice to meet you. I suppose she was the first one to greet you huh? he whispered. Kasi slapped him lightly and laughed. I'm not allowed to greet people? Just cause you don't make new friends... she replied with a half-smile. She turned to Riley and smiled devilishly.

Riley laughed. That's right. I swear, she was just waiting for me to come in on the highway. His grin widened as she smiled at him. Well, as long as you're not stalking people just to say hi, then I GUESS you can continue. He chuckled, his eyes gleaming with mischief.

Kendall hugged his baby sister and told her not to stay out too late. I have a date. he told her when she wondered why he was leaving so soon. Kasi waved as he went through the door. I live with him, let's just say I need my own place... she said suggestively. Do you dance? Kasi asked Riley finishing her Coke.

Later, Kendall, Riley called as Kasi's brother left. He seems nice enough, why do you think you need your own place? Riley slugged down the last few gulps of his Guiness and put the bottle down on the bar. He was considering ordering another beer when Kasi asked if he danced. Ummm, if you mean super-white guy dancing, then yeah. I mean, I can do the sprinkler, the bus driver, the shopping cart... he trailed off.
