Gerard sat on the floor of his bedroom, one of two master bedrooms. Around him were two female dogs, a Rottweiler and an Aussie. Trailing after them were litters of puppies, one Doberman-Rottweiler, the other purebred Aussie. There were fourteen puppies total, nine of the Dobie-Rottie mix, the other five Aussies. He'd bought Rajah, the Rottie female, about a month ago from an owner who didn't want a pregnant dog. The Aussie pups had been bred by Sasha, who was letting Gerard raise them.
Sasha had also given him first pick of a dog from the litter. He already had one in mind, but now it was time to take a look at his own pups. Like most, he wished he could keep them all, but knew it wasn't possible. Sure, he could keep them in the kennels, but that was a lot of mouths to feed. He wouldn't have enough time to give all of them the love they deserved. Gerard had named them all, as if he were going to keep them, but as soon as people bought them, the names would be changed. He sighed, petting the young pups while he tried to choose.
