Sasha had decided today was the day to try out Kingwood's newest arrivals. They'd had plenty of time to settle in, now it was time to put them to the test. First up was Just My Style, a dapple grey Andalusion stallion. He'd been good so far-behaved on the cross ties, didn't seem to have any bad habits yet-so far, promising.
She led the stallion out to the round pen, where he wouldn't gain too much speed. Sasha shut the gate behind her and led him over to the mounting block, quickly getting up into the saddle. Style stayed still until she nudged him, then began a nicely paced walk. She tried him at a trot as well, then a canter. Sasha cut him across the ring, then reversed directions. She'd expected to do what other horses might do, a few trot steps then back to a canter. However, he surprised her by doing a flying lead change.
Maybe he knows some dressage, she thought as she did it again with the same results. I wish Jen were here to see how awesome he is. But if we ever sell him, he'll go for a good price. Sasha slowed him back down to a trot, posting easily to the smooth gait. A small sigh escaped her and her shoulders drooped a bit. Most days she rode by herself, and being alone got...well, lonely.
