Angel frequently thought about the possibilities, if, at some point, she and Gerard were married and raised their own horses. If she could enter a barn full of horses that belonged to them, if they could create their own name in the world. If, some day, she could sit a little toddler on Moon's back, letting her hold on to the old mare's mane, leading her as her father walked alongside the roan mare. For right now, the last true thing on Angel's mind was the possible training of all of the youngsters. Although she loved all of the horses, every single one, any time that she could spend with Gerard, by themselves, was savored even more. Angel grinned, and looked up at Gerard, kissing him. "You're so cute, boo," she giggled.

A couple of yearlings started making their way back to the pair; a colt started whuffling at Gerard's pocket. So are you, he said. Gerard tried pushing the colt away, but the colt pushed back. He sighed. Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em, he shook his head. He looked out over the herd, dreaming about the day when maybe horses like these could be theirs. He'd always wanted to own a place like this, where he could raise and rescue horses. A thousand thoughts went through his mind. I can't wait for us to start our future together. [/sub]

Angel unwrapped one arm from around Gerard, leaving the other around his waist. "But they're oh so cute!" She grinned, and scratched the colt behind his ears, reaching in to Gerard's pocket, finding the last sliver of carrot, and fed it to the little one. "The others will be jealous," she grinned. Although she had unwrapped one arm, she put it back around Gerard for a moment longer, giving him a slight hug. "Me, too. I really can't wait. It's going to be so...amazing," she sighed, happily.

Gerard chuckled as Angel pulled the carrot from his pocket and fed it to the colt. Yeah, but they'll have to wait until tomorrow. They're all little piggies. If they don't watch it, he whispered, they're going to get fat. He petted the colts' neck absentmindedly for a moment as he gazed off dreamily. He and Angel had been together a while now, maybe it was time that they started thinking about going off on their own. But it would take a lot of money to get something even a quarter of the size of Kingwood and to maintain horses and employees. Besides, he loved it here. He loved the people, the horses, the place. He'd been taken in a few years ago, and it had been a godsend. I know. I wish we could start it right now. But I would miss everything here so much. This place has been the only real home I've ever had, he said, looking into Angel's eyes. And if we moved out now, we'd either have to live in an apartment or a small house; it would take us a while to be able to afford our own stable. He released a deep sigh.

Fat?! Never. They're so skinny! Angel grinned, rubbing the colt's head, she really loved the youngsters. Watching Gerard's face for a moment, Angel turned her body into his, leaning her head on his shoulder. Maybe, just maybe, if they did try to go their own way, they could achieve something like Kingwood. But, how hard would it be to leave the magnificent stable? The horses, the atmosphere, the people. It was Angel's home, now. It was her sanctuary. Did she return to her uncle's house in Maryland? No. Did she run to her grandmother's home in Georgia? No. She returned to the large stable in little Paradise City. She returned to the horses, the people, Gerard. Angel hugged Gerard tight, and looked up at him. "I do, too. I would miss everything. But...but, I would have you. And you're the most important thing in my life. We could make everything work...eventually, as long as we had each other." She felt his chest rise and fall as he let out a deep sigh. "Gerard, we could do it.." [/center]

Gerard held Angel close as she cuddled in close to him. He could see it, almost as if if were right in front of him. A nice little house, cozied back in a clearing in the woods. A small stable, with maybe ten or twenty stalls. A round pen, a few nice-sized paddocks. Maybe a little ring with a jumping course. It wouldn't be anything as grand as Kingwood, but it would be a great start. He could see Angel coming out the front door, smiling at him as she hiked up the toddler on her hip. They could get a mini or two, teach the kid from day one. It would be their own little paradise. His daydream faded away as Angel began to speak. Yeah, we could. And it would be great. He pulled her chin up and kissed her gently. I want us to begin our lives together, Angel. As soon as we can. He stepped back from her arms, grabbed her by the hands, and got down on one knee. Angelyca Violette Kimmel, he smiled, looking into her endless eyes. My beautiful Angel. I love you more than I thought I could ever possibly love someone. You're my joy, my inspiration, my saviour. I want to spend every moment of the rest of our lives with you, through all the laughter, the tears, the failures and the triumphs. I want to be there for it all. Gerard kissed the backs of her hands gently and squeezed them. Will you please do me the honor of becoming my wife? His eyes continued to meet hers as he held his breath, awaiting her reply. [/sub]

Before any reaction to Gerard's first statement could be given, Angel felt him pull away from her, and kneel in front of her. Here. At Kingwood. He would actually propose to her. Her breath caught in her throat, her heart pounding an imprint on her chest. Angel's eyes burned, before the tears rimmed her eyes. At first, she could only nod, a trembly smile on her lips, "Yes, Gerard. Oh, yes, of course," the words came out rushed, in a hurry, but they were the most sincere words that had ever left her mouth. Never before had anyone meant so much to her, had anything ever happened to Gerard, she probably would have quite literally died. He was her life, her love, her everything, and he couldn't have ever spoken more beautiful words to her. Angel laced her fingers in Gerard's, urging him to stand, just a little suggestion. Once he did, she unlaced her fingers, and put her hands behind his neck, bringing his lips to hers. "Gerard Way, I love you. More than anyone could ever imagine loving anyone. Of course I want to spend the rest of my life with you." [/center]

Gerard's face lit up and he grinned from ear to ear. He stood up at her tug and wrapped his arms around her slender waist. He pressed his lips to hers lovingly. You can't possibly imagine how happy I am right now, he said, kissing her again. Gerard pulled away so he could look at her, his thumb brushing away a tear that had fallen. In all the time he'd known her, she'd never looked so unbelievably happy. We'll go pick out a ring whenever you want. I'll get you whichever one your precious little heart desires. Gerard kissed her again, holding her tight against him. They fit so wonderfully together, like they were made with the other in mind. Now, they would get to spend the rest of their lives together. It was all he ever could have asked for and more. [/sub]

Her heart swelled with happiness, truly, this was the happiest Angel had probably been in her entire life. A smile spread across her face, and she wrapped her arms around Gerard's neck again, letting him hold her tight. Now, she would need to come out with what she had been planning on telling him today, she just hoped he would take it well. "Gerard, love, I need to tell you something...I really hope it makes you happy, too..." Angel took a deep breath, letting her statement sink in. She turned her head to the side, and kissed his neck, and then took a step backwards. She had known that he hadn't wanted to take chances before they were together forever, but, now that he had secured her, perhaps the news would go over better. Holding his hands, Angel looked up at her, now, fiancé, the tears still evident in her eyes, although they were of happiness, not sadness. "Gerard...I'm pregnant..." [/center]

What, Angel? He looked down as Angel stepped out of his arms. She seemed a little nervous, and he started to panic a little bit. Was something wrong? No, nothing could be wrong, they were utterly in love, they were going to be married, they were going to start a wonderful life together. Nothing could be wrong, right? Gerard quickly took a couple deep breaths. He was overreacting. Calm down, Gerard. You're getting yourself worked up for nothing. Gerard looked down as he let Angel take his hands in hers, then looked back up to meet her gaze. There were still tears standing in her eyes. Gerard...I'm pregnant... Gerard gaped for a moment, before recomposing himself. You're...you're having a...We're having a...a baby? Breathe, Gerard. Wow. I can't believe it, wow. Oh my god, he said. I think I need to sit down. Gerard tugged her hands as he sat down. A baby? You're sure? He met her gaze once more, a bit dazed.

Angel's jaw tightened, afraid of the possible bad reaction from Gerard. She truly couldn't tell his particular mood about the situation, his mouth had fallen open when she told him, his eyes holding possible disbelief. She sat next to him, taking his right wrist, and putting his arm behind her, she scooted in next to him, her right hand on his thigh. Putting her forehead on his shoulder, she closed her eyes, listening to him speak. Angel nodded slightly, opening her eyes again. "I've already been to the doctor. I'm sure, we're having a baby. We really are." A slight shudder ran through Angel, from her scalp to the tips of her toes. The though frightened her, that she would have a child that depended on her so soon. She truly hadn't planned on having children for at least a few more years, but once the symptoms of a pregnancy had began to show, and the pregnancy test came back positive, she realized she would have to figure it out some way or another. "I'm about a month along," she mumbled, looking down at her seemingly normal torso; she hadn't begun to show yet. [/center]

It seemed like the entire world had slowed down. Nothing else existed but this place, no one else existed but them. Every sound seemed muted: the birds tha flew over head, the wind rustling the leaves in the trees, the horses whickering and stamping their hooves. The world came back into real time as Angel began to speak. He could hear the edge of panic in her voice, the concern, the fear. He hadn't quite reacted right, but he couldn't really help it. He was surprised. Gerard felt her shudder, and pulled her in closer to him, trying to reassure her with his body when he couldn't with his words. A month along. He hadn't expected this for another couple of years. How could this have happened? They'd always been careful. But finally, his head cleared up. This was his baby, their baby, and they were getting married. Maybe they could get married before the baby came. A baby. Gerard exhaled slowly before turning to Angel. I'm sorry, I panicked for a second. You kind of caught me off-guard. He smiled a little. It's a lot to take in. But I'm happy. I'm really happy. He pulled her face to his and kissed her gently. Are you? [/sub]

Angel was, truly happy about her baby...their baby...but she was also terrified. As Gerard pulled her close, she allowed herself to wrap both arms around his waist and press her face into his shoulder. What if she wasn't cut out to be a mother? What if her child inherited her emotional problems? What if something happened to her baby? The thoughts terrified her. Her tear ducts began to burn again, the tears soaking into the cotton fibers of Gerard's shirt. They weren't tears of sadness, but tears of confusion, happiness, and helplessness. Gerard was happy. He was glad that there was a little bit of both of them growing. Angel knew in her heart that Gerard would be the best father he possibly could. As Gerard lifted her tear-stained face, and pressed his lips gently to hers, the world silenced. All that mattered was him, her, and their child. As the kiss broke, Gerard spoke. "Of course I'm happy...I'm just so afraid.." Angel turned her eyes down, leaning against her fiancé's body. [/center]

Gerard could feel Angel's tears dampen his shirt. I'm afraid too, Angel. It's a big, scary thing. Again, he brushed the tears off her cheeks with his thumb. But we're gonna get through this together, just like we do with everything else. And we have lots of people who love us here, and who will help us. That statement sparked a brilliant thought, but he pushed it away, just for the moment. Look out at all those little guys, he said, looking to the yearlings. Imagine having something even cuter than them in a year. He chuckled, meeting her eyes again. It's going to be okay. I'm going to take care of you, and the baby when it comes. Okay? [/sub]

The scary thought of a baby seemed a thousand times easier with Gerard there for them. Even though the thought was terrifying, knowing that her one true love would be there wit her for the entire ride, made the future seem a lot less scary. Angel couldn't help but smile through her bloodshot eyes, and kissed Gerard lovingly. "Gerard, you're the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me..." angel grinned, and looked up at him. "Who woulda figured that I would fall hopelessly in love with a crazy, eccentric, goofy, lovable dork? Her smile was true - it reached her eyes, and her face glowed again. "Let alone be crazy enough to have his baby." Angel's true personality was back, now that Gerard had reassured her, reaching for his hands, she stood, and embraced him in a tight hug. "OhmyGod, I love you." Angel looked into Gerard's captivating eyes, and knew that she was home. [/center]

Gerard kissed her back softly. As she spoke, he laughed. Hey, he said, mockingly offended. I'm not a dork! And I didn't think that you had to be that crazy to carry my child. Harsh, Angel. Harsh. Now I feel bad. He stuck her tongue out at her playfully. As she reached her arms around her, Gerard pulled her in and held her tight. I love you, too, he said. A faint buzzing came from his pocket. He groaned, but pulled away from Angel to see who was calling him. It's Sasha, he informed her, getting to his feet. Gimme a second, let me see what she wants. Gerard walked away several yards, talking to Sasha about the progress of the horses he'd worked with today. Suddenly, his voice got softer, the words came out rapidly. His eyes darted over to Angel several times as he spoke. When he finally hung up with Sasha, he walked back to Angel with a satisfied grin. All done. Ready to go back to the house yet? [/sub]

"Totally a dork," Angel giggled as Gerard pulled her in. She laid her head in the little crook in his neck, eyes closed peacefully. Unfortunately, a buzz from Gerardo keg interrupted their moment, and Gerard pulled away, standing to answer the call. Instead of just siting there and talking normally, Gerard jumped up and briskly walked out of range of Angel, whispering quickly into the microphone on his cell. It disturbed Angel - they shared everything...and he had he balls to hide something from her? Perhaps he wasn't hiding something, but his odd behavior was...just that, odd. Finally, Gerard came back to Angel, and she stood. "Sure," she grabbed his hand with hers, squeezing it slightly. "Babe, what was the phone call about?" Angel cocked her head at Gerard slightly, but opened the gate to the pasture and relocked it, walking with him back to the house. [/center]

[whisper=grace]Gerardo keg? LOL[/whisper] Gerard walked out the gate and took Angel's hand. Nothing really, Sasha just wanted to know about the horses. She's thinking about taking them to a show soon and wants to make sure they'll e in top shape. He glanced over at the round pen as they passed, catching a glimpse of Sol-Leks inside. Poor guy. He still needs a lot of work done on him, he said. The horse would hopefully still be getting a good amount of work in once the new horses came in. The adoption center had had to move them because they were running out of space, and Sasha, being a person who rehabilitated horses, had offered to take them. There were a few new barns that were almost completed, several new pastures, and two more round pens. They're going to have to hire more exercise riders for all the new horses coming in. [/sub]

Angel hadn't heard about Sasha's plans to adopt and rehabilitate all of the horses left at the adoption center until right before the barns had been started - long after everyone else. Albeit, she was a little irritated that she hadn't heard about it before then, she was just as happy about the possibilities of having all of the abused, neglected, or owner-relinquished horses at the stable. As they passed the round pen, Angel glanced into it, unfortunately, Sol-Leks appeared to be slightly distressed. Frowning slightly, she sighed. "I wish I knew what scares the poor boy so much..." she squeezed Gerard's hand, following him as he continued to walk. "I could take on some more, I only exercise a few," she quickly realized, that in just a few short months, she wouldn't be able to exercise any horses, let alone the possible neurotic, green rehabilitated ones. Angel looked around them, the barns were beginning to really take shape - almost finished, and the glisten of new hardware on the new fences could be blinding if you got too close. "Do you think Sasha ever realized how big this would be?" [/center]

It's too bad, he said as they passed Sol-Leks' pen. The big house was coming up fast as the light began to fade from the sky. He looked down at Angel as she spoke. You'll only be able to train for a couple more months. After that, you'll have to instruct the exercise riders. Sasha had changed the system a few months back; now, instead of just exercising the horses on their list, they were responsible for their training. They all had their own horses to be in charge of, and a couple of exercise riders to help them out. I saw the list Sasha posted today, out in the barn. You gained at least 15 horses, you only had 7 before. You'll have plenty to keep you busy, so will I. Riley and Kasi though, the ones who are mainly responsible for the yearlings? They've got their hands fuller than they could ever ask for, that's why I'm helping out when I can. Gerard looked around Sasha's massive empire. I don't think she could have known. I mean, the hurricane certainly threw things off as far as rescues go. But even before it was big. [/sub]
