Her blushing only made his smile grow wider. Based on her blush and and constant staring at the ground, he guessed she didn't have a lot of experience with guys. Billie decided not to mention this observation while teasing her.
Why, thank you. You're not so bad yourself. The tip of his index finger lightly brushed against the very end of her nose as he spoke. Don't worry, I don't have that big an ego.

Billie's assumption was correct. Kris had been raised with three brothers, but she never had had time for a boyfriend or anything of the sort. Even in her teens she hadn't. It was weird, Kris had befriended many guys even when she was in Elementary, but there was something different about the way that Billie Joe easily teased her without worrying if she was going to take it offensively. He was open, and pretty easily read.
"Oh really? How am I supposed to believe that?"
She replied, the blush creeping away, only to flare up again as the tip of his finger brushed her nose.

He couldn't quite explain it, but he loved to make Kris blush. He would do it all day long if he could. Billie then remembered that she'd asked him something. How was she supposed to believe him?
I suppose you'll just have to trust me. His eyes left hers for a change and scanned the water. Suddenly, something caught his attention and his entire face lit up. Do you trust me?

If she had really minded his teasing, Kris would've already slugged Billie, but, honestly she didn't. His hesitation was odd, as if he was thinking deeply about something that was bugging him. As he gazed off to the ocean, and then as his face lit up, Kris was suspicous.
"Why?"
She asked, drawing the word out to indicate her wariness.

He saw a gleam of suspicion in her eye, but paid little mind to it. Billie didn't exactly want to tell her what he had in mind. It would be much better as a surprise. Hopefully, she would just trust him and go with it.
Just answer the question. Do you trust me? His emerald green eyes bored into hers as he waited hopefully for a yes.

Kris stared at Billie trying to figure out what he had in mind, after a few horrindous moments of being unable to do so, she sighed.
"Yeah. I s'pose I do."
She mumbled unwillingly. Well, it wasn't really unwillingly because she wanted to know what Billie was plotting, but she didn't want to let that on. She bit her lip and looked out at the ocean, watching Skit romp through the waves before laying down in the sun with a grunt.

Billie Joe grinned. Alright then. Sinbad! He called, just loud enough for the stallion to hear. Sinbad looked over to Billie, uninterested. C'mon, up and at 'em! With a sigh, the Percheron stood and shook of the sand from his pelt. He lazily ambled over to his owner. Be good, Billie told him before turning to Kris.
Are you ready?

The suspicion arose yet again as Billie called over his obedient Percheron. She sighed inwardly and nodded slightly.
"'Though I'd rather know what I was agreeing to."
She muttered, knowing that it didn't matter in the slightest to Billie whether she wanted to know or not, he wasn't going to tell her. Sunskitter was being the buoyant, happy soul she was, while Kris was trying to find a clue to the newest mystery in her usually mysterious life.

That would ruin it, Billy replied with a smile. Before she could think about protesting further, he grabbed her by the waist and hoisted her onto the Percheron's back, closer to his rump. He then vaulted onto the stallion's back as well, careful not to hit Kris. He'd unclipped the stallion's makeshift reins earlier, and decided to leave them off now. Sinbad responded well to leg signals. Billie grabbed a handful of mane, then turned to face Kris.
Are you ready? He repeated his earlier question.

Kristeena Kris still had no idea what Billie Joe had in mind; and it was bugging her! She eyed Sinbad, trying to visualize how much taller than Sunskitter he was. Skit was already a massive sixteen point three hands, pretty impressive for her young age. At this rate, Kris figured that Skit would be at least a seventeen point one horse before she was three years old. She was still trying to visualize the difference when Billie grabbed her by the waist. She jumped and looked over her shoulder at him for a the quickest second before he hoisted her onto Sinbad's back. Although Kris bit her tounge to keep herself from saying it, she thought to herself: Holy...He just lifted me onto a Percheron's back! Before she could realize what was happening, Billie was in front of her, turned so that he could repeat his earlier question. Still afraid that she was going to say something as embarassing as her earlier comment about how 'adorable' he was, she simply nodded. "Yeah..." She said quietly, still wary about what exactly was going to happen now. Oh Jesus... She thought to herself. Her thoughts weren't trivial to the bystander, but to her they were. If Billie was planning on simply them riding Sinbad, what was she supposed to do? Put her arms around his waist? Or what? Kris could've kicked herself for thinking like that. She would do whatever felt natural. As long as she could do so without looking like a fool. She awaited whatever Billie was going to do, determind not to make herself look anymore like a lovesick idiot then she already did. But, she wasn't lovesick...was she? Oh no, she couldn't be, she had just met Billie a half hour ago. But then her earlier statement came to mind...No! Never. Oh well.
Sunskitter watched Sinbad rise and walk to his rider and her girl. She 'shrugged' it off and rolled in the sand, the sand scratching an itch on her withers. As she rolled to her other side, she rubbed her cheek in the grainy sand, she was sure to get sand everywhere, knowing that it would just result in a long grooming session when she and Kris got back to Juniper Stables where Sunskitter was boarded. Skitter grunted as she rose to her feet, she saw Kris being lifted onto Sinbad's back. Although it made curiousity arise, Skit just ambled back to the water, romping and splashing at an invisible playmate in the water.

Okay then. Hold on. As soon as he felt her arms around his waist, Billie put his heels to Sinbad's sides. The stallion quickly broke into a gentle canter and splashed into the water. The massive Percheron stayed on the shoreline, kicking up wet sand behind him. The wind threw his mane back onto his neck, where it gleamed and glistened in the sunlight. They remained parallel to the beach for several minutes before Billie signaled him to go into deeper waters.
Sinbad's pace slowed as he trudged through chest-deep waters, out into the ocean. Sand was still visible beneath them, along with the occasional brightly colored fish. The distant cries of seagulls on the public beach were barely heard over the waves that crashed on the shore. Finally, the sand became just out of the reach of Sinbad's hooves, so he began to swim. After a few minutes of this, a small island came into view.

||Kristeena|| Kris smiled slightly as Billie kicked Sinbad into a rocking-horse type canter. Skitter made her way back up to the shoreline and was standing solemnly, watching the trio until they plunged into the waters that came to Sinbad's chest. As the trio pulled away from the shoreline, Skitter began to pace frantically on the shore. She whinnied incessantly and trotted into the water, too afraid to swim, she stayed where she could reach the sand. Kris leaned her cheek on Billie's shoulder, her arms around his waist as Sinbad's legs worked beneath them. She was looking down, and then looked back up and there was a small, green island that was visible. Was that were Billie was taking her? It might not have seemed this way to others, but to Kris it seemed exceptionally sweet of Billie Joe. "Aww man..." She mumbled and pulled her cell phone from her shorts pocket before her shorts got soaked with salt water. She held onto her cell phone with one hand and still held to Billie Joe's waist as Sinbad swam.

In another minute or two, Sinbad's hooves hit the sandy ocean bottom once more. The water became shallower and he was able to pick up the canter once more. The trio came up onto the shore quickly, and the island grew. It was just a small island, maybe a quarter of a mile wide and half a mile long. Palms trees shaded parts of the shores and led deeper into the island.
Sinbad reached the shore's edge and Billie slowed him with a soft Ho and slid off the stallion's broad back. He stood below Kris, ready to catch her. Come on, Ii've got something to show you.

||Kris|| As Sinbad's hooves hit home, the water seemed to retreat, and the island seemed to become larger. It was a beautiful little island, a miniateure paradise, perahps. It reminded Kris of the time when she went on vacation to the Bahamas, a small streach of beach wtih no one else on it. Kris was a bit nervous of letting Billie catch her, but slid from Sinbad's back, landing in his arms. She looked up at him as he spoke, knowing better than to question him as to what he wanted to show her. So far that had gotten her nowhere. "Alright. Lead the way."

Billie Joe caught her with ease and set her on her feet. Alright, let's go. He strode onto the beach and headed for the trees. He followed a narrow trail that led farther into the island. Light that filtered through the tree tops created a green, dappled pattern on the sand and their skin. It wasn't long before a glow could be seen ahead. The glow grew as they continued on, until they came back into the light.
The other side of the island was pretty much the same as the side they had arrived on, except for some small cliffs and a cluster of rocks that jutted out into the water. Billie Joe took Kris' hand and led her across the rocks, all the way to the end of the the natural pier. He pulled her down and lay on his stomach. Look down, he murmured softly. Below were intricate coral formations filled with colorful fish and plants. The fish darted about at times, frantic about something or other, while other times they floated along, content and secure. Billie's eyes darted to watch Kris.

||Kris|| Kris followed Billie Joe through the trees, the canopy of the lightly clustered trees left patterns on the sand and on their skin. As they neared the clearing, Kris was becoming a bit skeptical, it was nearly the same as the other side of the island...With a few minor changes. Kris let him take her hand without so much as a thought, and followed him down to the rock that jutted out above the blue water. Laying on her stomach next to him, Kris followed his instructions and looked down. The coral formations were magnificent. The colorful fish darted about, seemingly anxious and harried. "Wow." She murmured, the word seemed insignificant, though. But she really couldn't think of a better one.

He smiled, then looked back down into the water. For a few minutes, it was silent as they watched the fish as they hurried about nonsensically. I wonder what they're thinking? I mean, there has to be some reason they're going around like that. I don't know about you, but I don't generally run around in every direction for no reason. He glanced up at the cliffs, thinking of the times he'd jumped off of them into the bright blue waters below. I wonder if Kris is into that? he wondered for a moment.

The silence wasn't awkward, like Kris had been expecting. It was peaceful, natural. Billie spoke again, and Kris wasn't expecting it. She looked over at him, and smiled as he spoke. "Well, I bet you would if you were a little fish and a big fish was looking for a meal." She said, and smirked, there was a faint sound of the waves hitting the sand as they laid there. Kris looked down at the fish again, not exactly sure of what to say, now.

Not me. I'd chase after the big fish. He grinned cockily and once more glanced at the cliffs. From here he could see the trail that wound through more trees and led up to the top. He'd only ever gone cliffdiving with his guy friends. Kris seemed like she might be into that stuff. Maybe not. Well, the only way he'd find out was to ask. Have you ever gone cliffdiving? He lay his cheek against the back of his hands to look at her.

"Hmm...first your a rabid dog, and now you're chasing fish...I think you have a problem." Kris teased, and looked over at Billie Joe, smirking playfully. She was getting just a bit entraced by the pattern that the leaves made on the sand...a bit childish. It took her a second to figure out that he'd asked her a question. "Only a couple times. First time, I was on a canoe trip, and I was drunk. Apparently someone dared me." She grinned self-consiously. She only had what her friends said about that night during their canoe trip to frame up her story. Kris had no recollection of the day she'd jumped from a forty-foot cliff into the water of a river she was on.
