Jaquiline and Armani
Jaquiline rose, streaching out of her bed. She rubbed her eyes and looked around her black, silver, and red room. She kicked off her black comforter and rolled out of bed. She dressed in pale tan johdpurs, a light blue tank top, and dark oil leather riding boots. Jaquiline made her way to her closet and grabbed her riding crop off of a hanger. She walked to the neighboring bedroom and peeked in on her younger brother, Jasper. Even though Jasper was eighteen, Jaquiline still fussed over him like he was a child. Jasper's hair was askew and he was mumbling something in his sleep about a purple dolphin. Jaquiline smiled and closed the door. When Jaquiline was nineteen, and Jasper only sixteen, Jasper had been in a devestating car accident, and his memory of everything that had happened before his accident became blurry. It wasn't full-blown amnesia, because he still remembered his name, and other essentials, but he didn't remember what he had done the day before. He didn't remember that he was dating his best friends ex-girlfriend. He didn't remember this birthday two weeks before the accident. But, everything after his accident was as clear as his memory was before the accident.
Jaquilne smiled to herself again as she walked to the bathroom. She washed her face and brushed her hair and teeth. She pulled her blonde hair up into a ponytail and walked downstairs to the kitchen. After grabbing a bottle of water, and getting a drink of iced tea, she walked outside into the dim light of dawn. She and Jasper had finally imported their horses from their old stable in Ireland, where they had spent two years of their lives with their Great-Aunt Velma. Therefore, Jaquiline's favourite stallion, a large Belgian by the name of Armani was avalible for her to ride again. She walked to the stallion barn and was greeted by a whicker from Armani's stall. The large horse swung his head over the edge of his stall door and thrust his nose at Jaqui as she passed. She laughed softly and brought Armani's tack out, putting it on a swing-out saddle rack attactched to Armani's stall door. She unlocked Armani's door and walked into the stall with her horse. She grasped his dark blue nylon halter by the cheek strap and led him into the asile, clipping the crossties to his halter. She stroked his velvety nose and began to groom him. First, knocking off dirt with the curry comb, and then getting the smaller pieces of dirt with a dandy brush. She laughed as Armani grunted as she lifted one of his huge hooves to pick them out. "How did you get so dirty, Armani? You were only out in the paddock for a few hours yesterday and you got FILTHY!" Jaq teased her horse and finished grooming him. She slid the sheepskin saddlepad over his palomino coat and pushed the deep-set Jumping saddle onto the saddlepad. She buckled his girthstrap as a mare from the mare barn whinnied loud and clear. The big Belgian whinnied back. "Oh, Armi, you're so obnoxious!" Jaqui said and stroked her stallion's neck, unclipping his halter and sliding on his bridle. He took the bit with ease. Jaquilne led Armani outside and mounted up before walking him to the outdoor arena, where a set of six jumps were set up. Armani hadn't been jumped much, but when he did, he did it amazingly. He would be a good match for Kingwood's Freisian stud, Grandeur... Jaquilne thought to herself. When she was plotting the landscape for Juniper, she had gone to the neighboring stalbe, Kingwood and spoken to a Jen Cagle about where their property line was. While she was there, she saw a pair of stable hands, whom appeared to both be black-haired and riding stable horses in the ring. The boy, whom Jaqui later knew to be called Gerard was riding a large, beautiful stallion by the name of Grandeur. The girl's horse wasn't nearly as impressive. It appeared to be an Irish SportHorse cross mare. Perhaps the cross was with a Warmblood? The grullo coloring of the mare through everything off though.
Jaquilne clucked to Armani and off they went.
