Dyan pulled her auburn hair into a low ponytail. She changed into a sports bra and shorts; grabbed her iPod, water bottle. She walked out of her home and put in her iPod in and set it to the "Energetic" playlist. Dyan stretched out and headed toward the park. She always loved living near the park; it was an easy way to stay in shape. Once she hit the park, Dyan picked up the pace. Her ponytail brushed against her shoulders in time with her steps, and the music. She followed the path around several times and when she was finished she stretched again. She found an empty area near a tree and sat down. She switched the playlist to "Relaxing" and stretched out beneath the tree.

Jasper had spent most of his day at the stable, finishing up Jacque's chores that she had left unfinished earlier in the day. Of course, he didn't really mind helping his sister, as long as she was happy, and Miles made her happy. It wasn't Jasper's ideal day, scooping out stalls, cleaning kennels, and finishing paperwork, but it could be a lot worse.
Finally, when he got a moment or two to himself, he decided that a little trip to the nearby meadow would be in order. He considered taking Hunter, his loyal Golden, but decided against it, as Jasper wanted peace and quiet. He wanted it to be himself, and his iPod.
Once Jasper arrived at the meadow, he realized that it might be the perfect day to just be by himself. He scrolled around on his iPod until he found one of his favorite songs - Change, a new song by The Young Veins. Jasper walked to the far side of a big tree, and leaned against it. Quietly humming to the song. Between song changes, he heard a soft rustling behind the tree. Crawling around the other side, Jasper saw a young girl, around his age, and was quite attractive. Turning down the volume, Jasper sat down. "Uhm...hi."

I opened my eyes blearily and took out one of my earbuds when I heard the young man's voice. Hello. I said hesitantly, sitting up. I suddenly felt self-concious in my barely-there clothing and messy hair; I wrapped my arms around my stomach. I looked at the boy...no the man sitting on the other side of the tree from me. I couldn't keep myself from staring at his eyes, so intense and full of hurt. He'd been through a lot of pain, I could tell. My name's Dyan. What's yours? I looked down at my iPod, turning it off. I stood up stretching, Can I sit next to you? I asked pointing to the spot next to him.

Jasper was absoloutely starstruck by the auburn haired girl. Her caring, loving grey-blue eyes bore into Jasper's soul. Dyan was extremely intense. Intesely gorgeous, but intense in a mental way, also. Jasper simply nodded to her question, gesturing to the spot in the grass on his right side. A slight smile crossed his mouth as Dyan sat by him. "I'm...ah.... Jasper...Jasper Whitlock." He half-mumbled, looking slightly sheepish. Jasper still had trouble conjuring up things as simple as his name. Usually, he could cover it up, but this wasn't one of those times.

Dyan, one eyebrow raised, asked quietly You ok? You can tell me anything, hun. She smiled warmly. She took in Jasper's facial expression, she wasn't sure what to make of it. Dyan slowly raised her hand to his shoulder, placing it lightly then squeezing it. She put her other hand over his, intertwining their fingers. "I'm here for you," her hands told him. "Let me in." Dyan slid closer, letting Jasper know he could tell her what he could let go. Jasper? she whispered.

Jasper blushed at the stranger's cocern for him. Shaking his head slightly, allowing his blond bangs to flop into his green-blue eyes, Jasper looked away. The feeling of Dyan's hand on his shoulder, the warmth of her body as she scooted closer to him was comforting, but he wasn't quite sure if he could comfortably tell Dyan what happened. "I just...don't know..." Jasper mumbled, rubbing his face with his fist. How could a lonely day in the meadow turn in to this? "Ughh...I just...I don't remember...things. After the accident..." He grumbled, looking away from Dyan.

It's ok, hun. Dyan said softly, rubbing Jasper's shoulder. She could tell he didn't want to talk about it, or couldn't, she wasn't sure which. But it didn't matter she just knew she had to let Jasper know he could confide in her. Dyan swept his blond bangs out of his face. He had such a sweet face, so innocent and harmless. She wanted to know what could have made this sweet boy be in so much pain. But she didn't want to pressure him into something he didn't want to talk about with her. She simply pulled him into a hug, letting him know she wouldn't laugh or ignore him. Dyan was Jasper's friend.

Jasper smiled sadly, glancing back towards Dyan. As her hand pressed against his forehead when she swept his bangs out of his face, he leaned in to the movement, prolonging the experiance. He'd never really known any one that seemed to care so much about him so quickly. Jasper, down deep, adored it, but he wasn't quite sure about getting attached to some one. As Dyan pulled him in to a hug, Jasper slowly let his arms wrap around the young girl's waist. "Thank you..." The boy murmured, closing his eyes.

Dyan rubbed one hand along his back, drawing patterns she didn't recognize. She took her other hand and put it on the back of Jasper's head. Her fingers massaged softly, burying her hand in his floppy blond hair, pulling him closer. Your welcome, Jasper. Dyan whispered into his ear. As Jasper wrapped his hands around her waist, she paused, but resumed after he was comfortable.
