She grinned sheepishly and put Chazie in his stall. He snuffled at the floor and layed down and rolled in bliss. She laughed softly and smiled up at Gerard. She scanned through the stallions, her eyes resting on two, Lengend and Bloody Brew. Bloody Brew and Legend. She said softly, her eyes looking up at the one she loved. [/blockquote]

Gerard followed her as she went through the stallions. Okay then, he said, looking from one to the other. Now the only question is which one? Legend ahd a somewhat fiery temperament abd was a bit high-strung. That was to be expected, since he was a purebred Thoroughbred. Brew, on the other hand, was a spitfire. He'd been at Kingwood for over a year and still had hardly been ridden. Only on rare occasions did someone actually manage to stay in the saddle. He was pretty much fine being led, lunged, and was okay with other horses, but for some reason loathed the idea of a rider on his back. Still, he'd calm down sometime...he hoped.

No wonder Angel had picked them. Apparently she was drawn towards high-sprited nut jobs of horses. Could I ride them? She asked softly and looked over at Gerard, her emerald green eyes seemed to say: don't worry, I took on you, didn't I? She smiled slightly. She leaned on Bloody Brew's stall door, watching the Arab-type stallion move. He's a nice mover, so is Moon. She murmered thoughtfully. [/blockquote]

Gerard looked in on Brew, who was quiet for now. Sasha doesn't like people riding Brew when she's not around, and the only exception to that rule is Billie Joe. I guess his ex brought Brew over because she couldn't handle him. And don't even think about saying that you can handle him and all that. I've seen what he's done to riders before. I'm not saying he's a bad horse, because he's not. He's just had a bad life, and doesn't deal with riders well.

Angel nodded in agreement to his first couple of statments, and then became irritated when he basically said that she couldn't handle horses. She glowered at him in anything but a playful fashion. So what you're saying is that you don't think I can handle an unruly horse? She challenged, her voice harshly sharp. Although she had been drinking, earlier, most of the buzz had worn off, yet it was still apparent on her breath. Maybe I'll run away again, see how he feels. She thought to herself, and then decided against it. [/blockquote]

Gerard sighed deeply. He knew she'd challenge him, even try to prove him wrong. I'm not saying that you can't handle an unruly horse. I'm just telling you what he can do. He paused, meeting her eyes now full force. I'm also telling you that you can't get on him because Sasha's not around. No exceptions. Emerald green eyes bored into hers, not to be taken jokingly. Understand? Gerard wasn't normally much of a person for rules, but in this case, he was. Brew needed a lot of work, and he wasn't about to let Angel get on him and try to ride him out.

Bloody hell. She muttered under her breath and turned on heel. She shook her hair out violently, and stormed down the walkway to Chazie's stall. She unlatched the bolt and slipped inside. She locked it back and walked quietly to the ebony stallion. Shhh, shh, Chaz. She said softly, stroking the stallion's neck affectionately. She had always had a firey temper and Gerard knew that. Gerard sighed as she walked away from her, but decided that he could at least go ride. He walked down the aisle to Grandeur's stall, the large Friesian he'd recently purchased. He pulled him out of the stall and groomed him quickly before going into the tackroom and taking out his draft saddle. The huge black horse stood quietly as Gerard tacked him up; a perfect gentleman. After putting on Grand's bridle, Gerard led to the indoor arena and mounted up. He'd only ridden the stallion once prior to today, and he'd been fantastic. He was graceful, well-trained, and still had a personality. Grand was generally pretty quiet, from what he'd seen, but he loved to jump. Maybe if he was good (which he probably would be) Gerard would set up a few jumps for him.

Angel patted the stallion's Arabic-type neck and slipped out of the stall, watching Gerard with a shifty eye as he tacked Grandeur. She walked slowly, calmly to the mare's barn. It took her no longer than a few seconds to find Moon's grooming kit and walk down to ther stall. Shh...Moonie. She murmered quietly as she groomed the mare. She left her untied in her stall, knowning that she wouldn't act up. She slipped back into the tack room and grabbed her deep Jumping saddle and olive brown bridle. She walked back to the mare and tacked her, Moon was half-asleep, her left leg easily resting ontop of the sawdust. She led the mare out and mounted in the aisle.

After warming Grandeur up and cantering him a bit, Gerard dismounted and tied a quick release knot to one of the rings on the wall. Gerard quickly set up a few jumps: one on each side of the large arena, and two in the middle. Seeing as the ring was so big, he and the stallion would have plenty of room to manuver. Once all the jumps were set at a 3'6" height, Gerard untied the stallion and got back up, trotting him around the inside. As soon as Grandeur had loosened up a bit more, Gerard sent him into a canter around the inside of the ring.
Once he was sure the stallion was ready, he let the Friesian move to the rail, aimed at the first jump. Gerard shortened up on the reins a bit and prepared himself, going into two-point just as the stallion took off. Grand landed easily on the other side and tossed his head with a snort.
Easy, boy, Gerard murmured as they came up on the short side.

Angel watched Gerard and Grandeur move flawlessly from her perch atop Moon. She leaned her elbows on the pommel and slipped her racing booted feet from the stirrup irons. She watched the boy and horse move, counting the beat with her fingers, rapping on Moon's neck as the stallion cantered. She remembered that she had forgotten overreach boots for Moon's fetlocks and cannons. She slipped from the horse's back like a serpent and tied her loosely to a nearby post. She sprinted back to the barn and returned quickly, booting the mare. She untied Moon and sprung back up like a jackrabbit. She clucked to the mare and they walked around the outside of the ring, continuously watching the stallion, Angel contemplating whether or not Grandeur would be a good sire for Moon's colt, Moon contemplating the jaden grasses around her hooves.

After coming around the short end, Gerard headed Grandeur towards the next jump. The stallion pulled on the bit, eager to get to the jump. Gerard kept him in check and reined him a little as they neared it. In the last couple of steps, Grand picked up his pace and flew over the small jump, keeping the faster pace as they started towards the end of the arena. Gerard slowed the stallion to a trot and made Grand do small circles, figure eights, and serpentines to remind him who was in charge. Once the Friesian had calmed down, Gerard let him take the jump they'd just done again, cantered to the far end, then turned in towards the middle towards the set of two jumps.

Angel made her decision, she'd ask Gerard about Grandeur siring Moon's colt. Moon, also, made her decision, she yanked at the bit and lowered her head and nibbled on the grasses before being checked and reined by Angel. She snorted irritably and moved slowly, surefootedly to the entrance of the arena. [/blockquote]

Gerard decided to let Grandeur take a rest for a while and slowed him to a walk. The stallion tossed his head and pranced excitedly, eager to do more jumps. Easy, boy. We don't want to get you too worked up. Gerard murmured softly, giving him a pat on the neck. So, did you figure out who you're going to breed to Moon yet? He asked, joining Angel by the arena entrance.

Angel grinned as if she had something to hide. Her emerald eyes washed over Grandeur's comformation, which, like his riding, seemed flawless. She nodded serenly, and glanced back up at Gerard. Grandeur. She said softly. If thats okay with you. She said with a slight smile, not her devilish, hiding, rebellous grin. She stroked Moon's neck, but couldn't help but think back to her and Gerard's relashionship the past year. They might've been smitten with each other, and Sasha knew too, but, she felt as if they had grown awfully far apart.

Gerard looked down at Grandeur, as if he'd just realized he was riding him. Grandeur? The stallion was standing pretty much still by now, except for the occasional toss of the head. He eyed Moon every now and then, curious. However, Grand stayed where he was, being an uber-obidient horse. What made you come to that conclusion?

Moon streached out her nose, tugging at the snaffle, attempting to get closer to the ebony Freisian. She was reined and checked in by Angel, and she snorted contemptuously. Angel smiled slightly. Watching him move. He's elegant and handsome...much like someone else I know. I think that he would make an amazing sire, especially after seeing Luxurious She said quietly, shyly.

His mind wandered to Luxurious, now a weanling. It had nearly broken his heart the way she'd called out for her mum, who was on the other side of the grounds. Beauty had gotten over the loss after a while, but Lux had still been slightly down when he'd checked on her that morning. After coming out of his trance, he thought about what Angel had said.
Yeah, he is a spectacular horse, he patted the stallion again. Not that I like to brag, Gerard added quickly with a smile. He tilted his head to one side, much like a puppy. And who's this someone you know? It was probably him, but it had been a long time since they'd had a relationship. In fact, he was still unsure if they had one again. Hopefully, he'd find out soon enough. The suspense was killing him.

She unconsiously stroked Moon's neck, and let the Quarter Horse X Andalusian mare check out some of the greenery sprouting from the ground. She gazed off, past Gerard, thinking of her uncanny connection with Black Mariah, Luxurious's elder sister, Beauty and The King's foal. I think you like to brag...just a bit maybe. Angel said with a slight playful smirk. Her green eyes grazed over Gerard, from his inquiring face to his booted feet. She closed her eyes slowly and spoke. You. She murmered, it was barely auditable. She wasn't sure if they had a relashionship at all anymore, but who knew? Maybe their bond would be stronger since they had been apart. She knew that her life had gone downhill when she left Kingwood. She had picked up drinking and cutting again, but she was sober and stopped cutting again, the hardest thing for her was to see the hurt on Gerard's face when she told him that she had started again. She didn't know what to expect, whether Gerard's face would twist in disgust, or whether he'd be relieved, or if he'd just shrug it off.

Maybe. He replied simply. Gerard wondered briefly what she was thinking about at this point. Perhaps it was solely on Grandeur and Moon, perhaps not. They hadn't been together for a long time now, and it wasn't his place to go snooping around in her own business. Not anymore. He was determined to leave her be and let her come to him if she needed help, no matter how much curiousity consumed him.
I can't decide what else to do with him. He'd doing better with jumping every day. He paused, realizing she hadn't seen him train Grand until now. When I first rode him, he'd see a jump and go ballistic. Once he got over that, he got really excited and really fast every time he went over a jump. Gerard gave the stallion another affectionate pat. He's getting better though, day by day. I don't want to push him too much.
